New York: L. C. Page & Company. Very Good. 1901. Hardcover. Robet Neilson Stephens (1867-1906) was an American novelist and playwright; this was his third novel. First published in 1898 by L. C. Page, this was issued two years later by the same publisher (it is the "Seventeenth thousand") and has a different cover than the first. L.C. Page published all his books. There are six pages of publisher's ads in the rear. Original dark red cloth covers with gray and black spine and cover lettering and decoration. Two pages are is dog eared and three pages have a tiny marginal tear about 1/16 inch long (not affecting any text), else this is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings, no previous owner names and no bookplates. Please inquire if you would like more information. ; B&W Illustrations; 8vo, 8"- 9" tall; 299 pages .
