Madrid: Don Antonio de Sancha, 1779. Half-Leather. Very good. xxiv, xlvi, 254 p. 19 cm. Half leather with marbled paper boards, marbled endpapers. Spine leather and corners worn, rubbing to boards. Bookplate for "George Benson Weston" on front pastedown. Minor foxing to title. Pages clean and bright.

Jorge Manrique (1440 - 1479) was a major Spanish poet. This book, Verses on the death of Don Rodrigo Manrique, his father, is his main work. The elegaic poem was written in honour of Manrique's father after his death in 1476. This edition contains glosses or explanations from several 16th-century writers. Spanish text.
