(8),303; (222); 230; 154; (46) pp.Fifth edition, first published in 1652; with armorial bookplate of Philip Monoux . - An attempt to describe in meticulous detail every aspect of the known world. It appears to have been the first description in print of Australia, and perhaps of California, Terra del Fuego, and other territories in the New World. With Appendix on the endeavor to discover Terra Australis Incognita, or the Southern continent. This curious discourse on Terra Australis describes its supposed immense size to be as large as Europe, Asia and Africa (Cox II, p.339).
