About This Item

New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1931. Hardcover. Very Good. Later printing (first published 1927), inscribed by James on the front free endpaper in 1932. xii, 242 pp, with illustrations by the author. Bookplate of the inscribee, Helen Hull Monnette (daughter of Bank of America founder Orra Eugene Monnette), on front free endpaper. Light dust soiling to boards, clipped sections of original dust jacket affixed to endpapers and reaf flyleaf (see our images), but very good overall.
