Illustrated endpapers, showing an abstract desert scene. The text is lavishly illustrated in colour decorations by Symeon Shimin. Blue coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the backstrip. Illustrated dustwrapper (wraparound), again by Symeon Shimin, with white coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. A whimsical illustrated childrens' story based on the Flight into Egypt by Joseph and Mary, in which real & mythical animals miraculously dance with the Christ child. Shelfwear to the lower book edges and a little discolouration to the top edges. Some dust marks to the top paper edge. The dustwrapper is slightly rubbed and faded, particularly the spine. Rubbing to the corners of the dustwrapper. Dustwrapper is priced clipped, front fold over, lower right-hand corner. This is the first UK edition. Size: 8vo - over 7Â¾" - 9Â¾" tall.
