A first edition collection of short stories by the crime writer, Cornell Woolrich, under the pseudonym of William Irish. The first edition. In the publisher's original, full cloth binding. 'The Dancing Detective' is a collection of short stories regarding crime, detection, horror and the macabre. Including titles such as, 'Two Fellows in a Furnished Room', and, 'Fur Jacket'. Written by Cornell Woolrich under the pseudonym, William Irish. Woolrich was a popular American novelist and short story writer. His 1942 story, 'It Had to be Murder', was adapted into the movie, 'Rear Window', by Alfred Hitchcock. The half title page is present. In the publisher's original, full cloth binding. Externally, very smart with some shelf wear to the edges. Age-toning and offsetting to the paste-downs and free endpapers. Mark to the rear free endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound. Binding strained to page 29 but still firm. Pages lightly age-toned to the edges but otherwise very bright and clean. Near Fine
