About This Item
Ann Arbor/London: UMI Research Press. Very Good+ in Very Good+ dj. (c.1987). First Edition. Hardcover. [good sound clean copy, modest bump to lower rear corner, some slight rippling to the lower part of the pages in the second half of the book due to some minor moisture absorption (no staining, however); jacket shows just a bit of surface wear, minor wrinkling in rear panel]. (Theater and Dramatic Studies, No. 44) Series (B&W photographs) This book "explores the lives and works of eight dancer/choreographers who figured prominently in [the] remarkable artistic explosion" in choreographical development that took place in Los Angeles during the period indicated -- although not, for the most part, having much or anything to do with the movie industry, the only notable exception being Ernest Belcher. (The book's "Hollywood" subtitle has mostly to do with the Hollywood Bowl.) The eight are: Norma Gould, Ernest Belcher, Theodore Kosloff, Serge Oukrainsky, Adolph Bolm, Michio Ito, Benjamin Zemach, and Lester Horton. .
