About This Item
New York, New York, U.S.A.: Bantam Books, 1964. 1st Edition. Soft cover. Near Fine/N/A. This is the first printing of the 1964 Bantam Pathfinder edition of Dandelion Wine, a classic by Ray Bradbury. The book is sharp, square, and tightly bound, with unmarked pages that are mostly white, with some yellowing to the edges. On the front there is some chipping along the spine edge, and three small drops of what looks like gold paint in the top left corner. The spine has some sort of pressure marking, but is uncreased by reading. This is much better than a reading copy! 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall.
Synopsis
Dandelion Wine is a 1957 semi-autobiographical novel by Ray Bradbury, taking place in the summer of 1928 in the fictional town of Green Town, Illinois — a pseudonym for Bradbury's childhood home of Waukegan, Illinois. The novel developed from the short story "Dandelion Wine" which appeared in the June 1953 issue of Gourmet magazine. The title refers to a wine made with dandelion petals and other ingredients, commonly citrus fruit.
