Farrar, Straus, Giroux, 1979. First US Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. First American Edition. Yellow paper covered boards with black cloth spine. Slight surface tear to front paste down where possible bookplate has been removed, bottom front corner slightly bumped. Overall a very good clean copy with no inscriptions in a very good unclipped dust jacket.
Synopsis
Darkness Visible by William Golding is a bleak tale of Matty and the people who cross his path. Matty was terribly burned in the London Blitz, and has to endure taunting for his horrible scars for the rest of his life. He finds two girls, twins, who are also lost children at heart.
