Hardcover Book in Fair Condition w/o jacket. George Barr McCutcheon (1866-1928) was an American popular novelist and playwright. This story set in the American West centers around the adopted daughter of the town marshall and the mystery surrounding her parentage. Illustrations by B. Martin Justice-full color frontis and fourteen full page b/w plates; in-text drawings throughout. Binding of green cloth with paste-down illustration on front, ivory titles on spine (color mostly rubbed off) and white titles on front partially rubbed off. Generally clean and worn, with spotting, edges rubbed, corners worn, with some scuffing. Sewn binding remains tight and solid, square. Endpapers. frontis and title page heavily foxed. Pages generally clean with occasional smudges and foxing, lightly toned, no writing, no creases.
