"Dombey and Son" is the story of a wealthy shipping magnate, and his son, daughter and assorted other characters. Despite the title, this work is more concerned with Dombey's daughter than his son. Includes an introduction by G. K. Chesterton. Everyman's Library #240, an entry in EL's Fiction series. --- In Everyman's style 1 maroon leatherette variant binding with elaborate Reginald Knowles-designed gilt spine titling & floral decorations, gilt decorations to cover, top edge gilt, sewn-in satin ribbon bookmark and rounded corners. Volume lacks a dust jacket. --- With 1.5-inch partial splits to front and rear upper joint areas, some chafing to cover extremities, else a sound, tightly-bound copy.; 12mo (7 to 7-1/2 in. tall); xxiv, 814 pages .
