Johann Daniel Gohl was an early 18th-century German physician who was often known by his pseudonym Aletophilus. None the less, Gohl published numerous medical works on pathology, medical practices, medicine fundamentals, health and well-being, and even works on medical malpractice. One of his best works was his survey of health and medicine in Berlin. "Actorum Medicorum Berolinensium" describes Berliners with long life, those that had died and the causes, the growth and development of Berlin medicine, and much more. This huge work contains ten separate volumes in one tome, published in Berlin in 1722.
