About This Item
London: Weidenfeld and Nicolson, 1976 . Cloth. Near Fine/Very Good Indeed. 8.5" by 5.5". None. An uncommon, first UK edition of this collection of short stories by Vladimir Nabokov, in the original, unclipped dust wrapper. Bound in the publisher's original blue cloth, with the original, unclipped dust wrapper. This work is comprised of a collection of thirteen short stories written in the 1920s and 1930s, with eleven of these stories appearing in English for the first time here. The stories originally appeared in various magazines of the time, in Berlin, Riga and Paris. Written by Russian-American novelist and poet, Vladimir Nabokov. Translated from the original Russian by Dmitri Nabokov in collaboration with the author. In the publisher's original blue cloth, with the original, unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, lovely, with very light bumping to the extremities and to the head and tail of the spine. Dust wrapper is very good, with light edge wear and one closed tear to the tail of the rear joint. The odd mark to the wrap, with light sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Near Fine
