An updated printing of the 1942 classic. This edition was limited to 1000 copies. In the publisher's binding with original unclipped dust wrapper. A detailed bibliography of detective short stories including Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Charles Dickens and Mark Twain. Ellery Queen is the collective pseudonym for crime writers, Frederic Dannay and Manfred Bennington Lee. Their books were some of the most popular American mysteries published during the 20th century. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, excellent with only minor shelf wear. The original unclipped dust wrapper is in a very smart condition with minor sunning to the spine and some shelf wear to the extremities. Some light chipping to the top of the first panel and a small closed tear to the rear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean. Fine
