This is the Prospectus for a Shostakovich Program developed by the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival's President - Sheldon Rich - and Artistic Director - Alicia Schachter. The Festival's 3-year celebration brought together musicians, composers, and scholars - for concerts, symposia, radio broadcasts, documentary films, and educational opportunities.. 1990 featured Moscow's Shostakovich String Quartet; 1991 featured the rest of Shostakovich's chamber music; 1992 events were scheduled to take place in Santa Fe as well is in the Soviet Union. In all three seasons, performances and premieres of music by American and other Soviet composers were programmed.
