About This Item

Yakima: Northwest Research Assoc, 1968. 2nd Edition. Soft cover. Collectible Good. Variant of second edition. BAADE COPY 6 according to Eugene Baade, ROGER PATTERSON'S SNOWMAN BOOK, indicating this edition was published by Patterson, et. Al. under the NW Research Assoc. imprint, probably in 1968. This hard to find second edition variant has the orange sticker on the front cover, "EXCLUSIVE: First Photos of Giant Creatures," etc. and citing articles in LIFE, Reader's Digest, and National Wildlife. Pictorial wraps. 169pp. Illustrated with maps and drawings by the author & others, & several photos. The publication of Patterson's book was a watershed publication which helped usher in the era of modern research on the subject. This is a good copy with moderate wear. The back cover has a couple of spots with light scuffing with traces of ink smudge along the fore edge, not very much, but to be noted. Back cover has two staple holes from the attachment of a color reprint photo of the famous frame 352 of the Patterson-Gimlin film that came with some copies of this variant. In the case of this copy, a previous owner obviously removed it. BUT, THE PHOTO IS PRESENT! IT IS LAID INTO THE BOOK. The front cover has very light scuffs or rubbing, almost not worth mentioning. Lower front corner crease, which is fairly common in most Franklin and NRA printings. This seems a little strange as most people open the book at the TOP right corner. A front cover 2" split lower spine has been archivally mended on the inside hinge and the split hardly shows, but we have to disclose it. Very scarce.
