About This Item

London : Collins , 1937. First edition. Cloth. Very Good Indeed/Good Only. 12" by 9.5". Not Stated. This is a charming collection of sketches and commentaries on various breeds of dog, created by a dog loving author. This is a charming first edition copy of Dogs Rough and Smooth, a collection of sketches of different breeds of dog. The author, in collating this book, made many new friends of lesser-known breeds of dog, writing and drawing greyhounds dachshunds, Alsatians and Sheepdogs amongst other breeds. With sixteen illustrations in colour. In the original unclipped dustwrapper.Collated, complete. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart. There is some fading to the spine and boards. There is previous owner ink to the title and half title pages. Internally, generally firmly bound with bright and clean pages with the odd scattered spot throughout. In the original unclipped dustwrapper. The dustwrapper is missing the spine and is rather worn with marks and bumping to the wraps. Very Good Indeed
