About This Item
New York: Viking Press, 1941. First Edition. Hardcover. Near fine/Near fine. A travelog of a trip to Ecuador made on commission from magazines. Illustrated with four double-page color plates by the author (who is probably best known for his Madeline series of picture books). First edition (first printing, with no indication of later printings). A near fine copy in a near fine dust jacket. Inscribed by the author-artist, "to Edwin Rakow Ludwig Bemelmans 1941." Rakow was probably the sometime poet of that name.
