About This Item
London: Edward Moxon, 1851. Later Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. A "new" edition of the dramatic works of these 4 famous authors with biographical and critical notices by Leigh Hunt. Very good in contemporary leather binding which has been skilfully rebacked with additional hinge strengtheners built in. Foxing to prelims and with bookplate of John Pavin Phillips on front endpaper together with additional inscriptions in prelims. Single line annotation on last blank, probably by bibliophile H. W. Chandler of Pembroke College, Oxford, in whose library this book once resided.
