Seven lectures exploring "the relationship between the scientific community and the lay public that impatiently awaits practical applications of scientific knowledge." Dubos (1901-1982) was a microbiologist and important environmental thinker. He would go to win the Pulitzer in 1969 for So Human an Animal and is credited with coining the essential enviro phrase, "Think globally, act locally."
