The city had reached its prime by the end of the 14th - first quarter of the 15th century under Prince Iurii as a a capital of his kingdom (kniazhestvo), the youngest son of Grand Duke of Moscow Dmitrii Donskoi. The well-preserved relics of Zvenigirid's past are situated on the picturesque elevated bank of the Moskva River. 128 color illustrations.
