New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1956. First Edition, Later Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Good plus. N.C. Wyeth. Orange cloth over boards, title stamped in silver onto spine, pictorial paste-down onto upper board, small 4to, illustrated endpapers, pp. xii, 409, ads. With Scribners date code of "N-11-56[H]" indicating a Nov. 1956 printing (shows "1925, 1928" as copyright dates). Illustrations in colour and B&W by N.C. Wyeth. Volume at least very good, having faint foxing to ffep, two leaves with tiny tears at bottom edge and text block edge age toned with light scattered foxing. Price intact DJ with small chips and creases at edges, faded spine and a triangular chip missing from just above the Scribners device. "Drums has been called one of the great novels of The American Revolution. It is also the very human story of Johnny Fraser, a boy of North Carolina, who joined the fight for freedom." from the front flap.
