Leighton, PA: Leighton High School. 1932. Hardcover. Very Good with no dust jacket; Two Yearbooks From Leighton High School, Leighton, Pennsylvania, 1931 and 1932. Franz Kilne was a student there and was Artist for the Yearbook in his Junioi Year. Most of the cartoons and decorations were done by him. His Signature appears in both books. Franz Kline was part of abstract expressionist movement in New York City in the 1940's and 50's. Both Books are in good condition. The 1931 Yearbook has a weak and loose spine. The 1932 Yearbook has a weak spine. Both have some edgewear. ; B&W Illustrations .

1840. A 10 1/2" x 8 1/4" pressed board box with applied lithograph on the front cover depicting two young women musing while standing arm in arm in a rose garden. The surprise within the box is 20 trinket boxes each 2 5/8" x 1 1/2". Each pressed board box is covered with embossed gilt paper with an applied litho on the top of predominantly a woman or women posed in outdoor scenes. Two of the boxes depicting courting couples. One is in the style of the Marie Taglioni fairy. Each box designed with the sole purpose of retaining ones tiny keepsakes and treasures. A joy to be received by any young woman. One box with-3 corner repair. Light warping from storage in dry environment.

The mylar protected dustjacket has the 75 crossed out and replaced with 100 on the front and spine, two old masking tape repairs to the front joint and along the rear flap edge to hold the dustjacket together, spine darkened a chipped due to the repairs, "A" from the title chipped away at spine head, dates in pancil below title on front panel. . Decorative engraved double-page title, statistics table, and 92 numbered double-page maps. At the rear are an additional 6 double-page maps of the continents, and two large folding maps of France and the two-hemisphere Mappemonde. Bound at the rear is a final map, a single-page Carte Speciale, of the war in Italy, dated 1859. Almost all maps have contemporary colouring in outline. Some chipping at lower spine, a bit of wear along upper hinge, inner front hinge cracking, an attractive very good copy in general. A complete copy, 101 Maps in all, plus the decorative title.

The cloth covers are mildly faded and dull and show some rub bing to the edges. Small frays to the spine tips. Moderate soiling to spine and covers. Light foxing to the upper edges of a few pages and a few other pages have been roughly opened else content is clean, unmar ked and reasonably tight. .

Illustrated. Hardcover. Brown decorated boards soiled, rubbed and shelfworn with wear along edges, spine ends worn and chipped, and edge points worn to boards. Page edges soiled. Internally, with black endpapers free of previous owners marks or signatures. Paper slightly age-toned with occasional smudges scattered throughout. The frontispiece is almost detached, just secured at the bottom by a thread. Pages 142/143 have darkened from some newsprint, left in place far to long. The binding is holding however is quite cocked, with both hinges cracked. Several signatures while not detached, seem to be working on it.

Hinges starting. Prior owner bookplate pasted on front endpaper. Older looking prior owner signature in front endpapers.
Pages are intact, some areas weakening. Some spotting throughout. Some smudges, mostly on page edges. Text fully readable.
