With original, price-clipped dust wrapper.Malcolm Bradbury's debut novel, set in provincial academia. The narrative centres on a the forty-year-old professor who falls in love with a younger post graduate and struggles to adapt to change. Bradbury wrote this novel whilst in hospital recovering from a heart operation. In publisher's original red cloth binding with original price-clipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart and bright with some very minor bumping to extremities. Faint offsetting to rear free end paper. Dust wrapper is sound. Closed tears and minor chipping to the extremities with a more significant closed tear to front joint, approximately 6 inches. Scattered spotting to back of dust wrapper. Sunning to spine. Internally, firmly bound with clean and bright pages. Near Fine
