London: J. G. and F. Rivington, 1839. Leather. Good Only. 8.5" by 5.5". None. A set of the ecclesiastical biographies of Christopher Wordsworth. Containing volumes I, II and IV of the 1839 third edition. In Ecclesiastical Biographies, selected lives were presented in chronological order so as to illustrate the history of the Church of England from the Reformation to the revolution of 1688 (DNB). Including entries on Thomas Bliney, Sir Thomas More, Bishop Hooper, Sir Henry Wotton and many more. Three volumes of four only. In diced calf bindings. Externally, rather worn, with rubbing and marks. Loss to the spine labels and heads of the spines. Five joints starting. Some evidence of past worming to the boards and spines. Internally, generally firmly bound. Ink signatures to front pastedowns. Pages are quite bright, and generally clean, with just the occasional patch of foxing. Good Only

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
