Elizabeth; or, The Exiles of Siberia, London: John Sharpe, 1817. 12mo, English edition of a French work published in 1806, pp. viii, 184, full brown calf with French fillets to covers, gilt lettering and decoration to spine with morocco label, marbled edges, title page and chapter title page vignettes but Richard Westall, gift inscription on flyleaf. Author says the story is based on a real-life occurrence in which a girl rescued her father from exile in Siberia. For the French editions, see Vicaire V.2, 1035, and Brunet V.2, 332. Condition of this book: Covers stained, front joint starting, clean and bright inside, overall good and sound. Shipments outside the U.S. may be subject to local taxes. Size: 12mo. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing.
