Synopsis
Empty World is a novel written by Samuel Youd (under the pen name “John Christopher”), published in 1977. Young Neil Miller is orphaned following a car accident and goes to live with his grandparents in Winchelsea, England. Shortly afterwards, they hear radio reports of a new plague that started in Calcutta, India, which is killing off everyone in its path except for a small percentage of children. Those who are infected appear to age quickly, dying after a few days.
