Spine ends of volumes 2 and 4 minutely rubbed, spine and edges of front wrapper of volume 4 sunned, else clean, sharp copies. Volume one comes with a copy of the first edition dust jacket for the hardcover that features the artwork by Caldecott Medalist Trina Schart Hyman (light edge wear).
Uncorrected proofs issued in advance of the first editions of this series. The fourth volume in the set was previously published as a paperback in 1985 prior to the rest of the series, but was edited to correspond to the rest of the novels in the series prior to the re-issue of this title, making this the earliest form of this revised version. A feisty princess who has no patience with stuck up princes chooses instead to partner with a dragon. One of the more humorous fantasy novels for young teens from the end of the 20th Century.
