About This Item

Kegan Paul, Trench, Trubner & Co, 1900. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. 1st ed, This book is genuinely in stock (unlike some of the sellers on this page) Brown buckram boards with dulled gilt titles to spine. Rubbed to corners and edges. Rough cut pages. Previous owners small stamp to half title page and some light foxing to front and rear end papers and occasional sporadic light foxing to the text. Edward Seymour 1st Duke of Somerset became Lord Protector following the death of Henry VIII from 1547 until 1549 until his Nephew King Edward VI became old enough to Rule in his own right. This is a comprehensive account of the build up to, the events of, and the end of the Somerset Protectorship. The photos of the contents pages cover only half of the contents to give you some idea of the scope of this work.
