The first edition of this study of contemporary art of eighteenth century English society with colour plates. First edition of English Society of the Eighteenth Century in Contemporary Art by Randall Davies in the original publisher's decorative red cloth binding. Illustrated with four colour plates with tissue guards and thirty three monochrome plates. Collated, complete.Previously from the library at Richmond Lodge, London. Indicated by a private insert: 'With love and best wishes for happiness and health this Christmas from their cousin H. B. Richmond Lodge Dec. 1908.'With gilt to the spine and front board.  In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, very smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. The front hinge is strained. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with occasional spotting throughout. Very Good
