Manchester: George Falkner, 1888. First edition. Hardback. Very Good. 9" by 5.5". Francis Vacher. A first edition of 'Engravers and Engraving', by Francis Vacher. First delivered as an Inaugural Address by the author at the commencement of the thirty-first session of the Birkenhead Literary and Scientific Society. This work includes 5 plates that depict engravings, which were initially on exhibition for the public, and were used to illustrate the author's Address. End papers and pastedown decorated with an attractive pattern of small flowers. Direct from the library of the late Hugh Selbourne MD (1906-1973) a noted book collector and diarist. In a stiff card binding with thick paper wrap affixed. Externally sound. Boards are a trifle rubbed. Handling marks to wrap. End papers and pastedown decorated with small flowers. Internally firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean, with just the occasional spot. Very Good
