Title Translated: "Interviews or Conferences of the Reverend Mother Marie-Angelique Arnauld, abbess & reformer of Port-Royal."
FRENCH EDITION. Published 1757, printed by Antoine Boudet (Brussels and France). The leather hardcovers on this 265 year old book show wear reflective of its age to include heavy cracks in the leather, most notably the external hinges where the binding cords are showing, which will eventually cause the covers to detach. The covers also have extensive nicks and cuts to the leather, bumped and worn-through corners and edges, soiling, bumped and worn-through spine head and tail, scratches, dark stains, and scuffed leather. Marbled-design on the textblock, pastedowns, and endpapers. Tanned and wavy textblock with dark spots and foxing. Moderate foxing and several pencil notations throughout the text. Overall, given its age, this antique leather book is in Fair or Acceptable condition.
