One of 50 000 copies printed.
This children's book devoted to the Eskimos everyday life (for example, hunting, the drinking of seal blood, fire making, etc.). Text was prepared by a major anthropologist and ethnographer Maxim Levin (1904-1963), who was studying of anthropology and ethnography of the peoples of Siberia and the Far East. Illustrations were created by a graphic artist Petr Staronosov (1893-1942), who lived in Siberia for a long time and explored the life of indigenous peoples of Siberia. In the middle of 1930s, he was arrested and imprisoned.
Very unusual children book.
