Bound in original mottled brown boards with gold gilt title to the spine. The binding is tight and in excellent condition, free from blemishes or damage. Inside, the pages are clean and bright and free from damage or marks, save some minor toning and the occasional age spot.
This collection of essays was originally published in 1823. They were very popular throughout the nineteenth century, charming readers with their conversational and personal tone. Lamb himself is the Elia of the title, and his sister "Cousin Bridget". This is a lovely, smart example of the Odhams Press publication of this work and it would look very smart sat in any book collection.
