Octavo (21.5cm.); publisher's blue decorative cloth embossed and lettered in gilt, top edge gilt; [2],xxxiii,[1],374pp.; photo-engraved frontispiece. Boards lightly rubbed at extremities, corners bumped, spine toned, else a Very Good and sound copy. This edition published the same year as the first. Collection of essays by the economist and Assistant United States Secretary of Labor the last year of Woodrow Wilson's administration, best known for his fervent opposition to the "witch hunt" resulting from the first, post-WW1, Red Scare.
