About This Item
New York: Simon & Schuster/ Verve, 1955. First Edition; published in cooperation with Verve; printed in France. Folio; only minute wear; a fine copy in the rare “transmatic” dust jacket. These dust jackets employed clear plastic, usually acetate, with printed paper flaps. Highly fragile, often perished or defective, this example is in excellent condition, with only minor chipping of the acetate. The colorful Miro illustrated front and back boards are therefore unobscured. The caption booklet is laid in. Nearly everyone now carries a camera, but Cartier-Bresson captured magic with his Leica.
