About This Item
Toronto: Macmillan Company of Canada, 1923. Book. Good. Hardcover. 1st Canadian edition.. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. An uncommon edition of a story first published in Black Mask (April, 1922). Displays Knopf colophon on title page, which credits Macmillan as the publisher, so the presumption is that Macmillan used Knopf sheets and simply changed the publisher's name. Dark tan cloth w/tangerine lettering to front cover/spine, Knopf colophon to back cover, 287 pages. Mildly cocked, some wear to corners/spine ends, moderate cover soil, tanned/lightly soiled edges, previous owner's name to first end paper, what looks like coffee stains to bottoms of pages 28/29..
