About This Item

Hardcover with dust jacket, published by Grosset & Dunlap. Originally published in 1931 by William Penn & Company, this is a reprint edition. Loring titles from 1922 to 1937 were first published by William Penn, and later reprinted by Grosset starting in 1961. So even though the only date listed is 1931, this is most likely one of the later reprint editions since it is a Grosset & Dunlap copy. Grosset & Dunlap would often reprint titles without changing the copyright date information. A first printing of this edition. The story of Pamela Leigh, staying with her invalid father on Cape Cod, and how she meets Scott Mallory, a young lawyer, will long term romance ensue? This is not a library discard, not a remainder. Former owner's name written in pencil on the first flyleaf and dated 1966 in blue pen ink. Jacket has a 1/4" deep chips at the head of the spine, small chip marks to the heel of the spine too. Diagonal 1/4" chip at the top right corner. It has been protected with a clear cover though. There is a crack in the gutter at the spine on the title page, about 3 inches long, though the binding is still tight and square. Edges of the text block are clean. No further writing besides the name on the flyleaf. Blue colored boards with the author name and title imprinted on the spine and front board in red. Boards are flat, very little edge wear, very slight inward bumping to the tips of the corners. The attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory. Red colored top-stain does not appear to be faded. We have several Loring titles listed.

About Hopkins Books

We're a small, independent, family run book seller specializing in current fiction and non-fiction, with an emphasis on Art, Art History, History, Memoirs, Travel Memoirs, Signed First Editions, and Literature in Translation.Do you have any questions about our books ? Let us know, we'd love to hear from you! Do you want to see a photo of a book before you order it ? We try to post as many photos as possbiel, but sometimes there will be a item in inventory that does not show a photo here. So feel free to ask for photos, we don't mind at all. We package all of our orders carefully either in a box that has been designed to ship books, or in a padded envelope. We want to make sure you receive your order in the best possible condition! Our preferred shipping method is USPS Media Mail. Recently, the USPS has added tracking to Media Mail , which has been a great addition to this service. If you do choose to have your order shipped "Expedited", my shipping cost may seem higher than expected. Some of our books are large format hardcovers that can cost quite a bit when shipped expedited. So I would like to make sure that I can cover the cost upfront. However, if the actual cost of expedited shipping is less than the charge, I will refund the difference!
