Troy, New York: Charles Francis Himes, 1861. Charles Francis Himes (1838-1918) was a physicist who was an avid amateur photographer as early as the late 1850s. From the beginning he noted on the verso of his stereoviews the subject, place, and date the photograph was taken. Thus, on this stereoview in his hand are the notations "Falls of Poestenkill," "near Troy, N. Y.", and "Printed Oct. 1861." The stereoview is in very good condition.. First Edition. Paper. Collectible-Very Good. Illus. by Charles Francis Himes. 3 1/4" by 6 7/8". Photo.
