In the publisher's original, full cloth binding. Illustrated throughout by Clifford Geary, the American science fiction illustrator, known for his reversed-ground white-on-black illustrations. 'Farmer in the Sky', is a classic science fiction book about a teenage boy who moves, with his family, to Jupiter's moon Ganymede. The novel was awarded a Retro Hugo in 2001. Robert Anson Heinlein, was a renowned American science fiction author, engineer and naval officer. He was one of the first authors to include scientific accuracy in his fiction books, and his work continues to be highly influential today. In the publisher's original, full cloth binding. Externally, very smart with some shelf wear to the edges. Fading to the spine and to the rear board. A few handling marks to the free endpapers. Internally, binding strained but still firmly bound. Pages slightly age-toned but still bright and clear. The odd handling mark and spot throughout. Very Good

Synopsis

Farmer In The Sky is a 1950 science fiction novel by Robert A. Heinlein about a teenaged boy who emigrates with his family to Jupiter's moon Ganymede, which is in the process of being terraformed. It was originally published in serial form in Boys' Life magazine (August, September, October, November 1950), under the title "Satellite Scout" before being republished in hardcover later that year by Charles Scribner's Sons.
