In the scarce original price-clipped dust wrapper. With the vanishingly scarce original price-clipped dust wrapper. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece and seven colour plates. Collated complete. A Norwegian romance story for children, set in the icy fiords, this work explores the mystical charm of life filled with the midnight sun and the Northern Lights. Written by Harriet Martineau, an English social theorist and writer. Illustrated by Arthur Rackham, an English book illustrator recognised as one of the leading figures during the Golden Age of British book illustration. In the original full blue cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor rubbing to the extremities. Original price-clipped dust wrapper is sound with light wear and chipping to the extremities. Minor loss to the head and tail of the spine with the odd small closed tear to the extremities. Light sunning to the spine with the odd small mark to the panels. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd spot or small crease to the edges. Minor age toning to the endpapers. Very Good Indeed
