About This Item
Hodder and Stoughton. London. 1931 (Ist Edition). 8vo, III, 319pp. Hardcover in light red cloth, with no d/w, in very good condition with corner and spine edge scuffing and light shelf wear only and a still firm spine, now protected in clear archival covering, text in very good condition though on now lightly tanned paper and with discolouration of feps but with no foxing or prior owner markings present at all and hinges in good order too. A very presentable first edition copy of what is likely to be the fifth book by Charteris in which his colourful rogue Simon Templar is mentioned (though published less than a year after the original "Enter The Saint"). This is another collection of three mystery novellas, noted to be published in 1931 but with the November 1930 date very clearly evident on the dedication page to "Barbara"- likly his editor and third wife. An excellent addition for any detective fiction book collector.
