LONDON: CASSELL & COMPANY LTD, 1937 Pastel blue flecked buckram boards with red leather laid on title slip and gilt blocked titles, 190 x 130 mm approx. x + 198 pp. Frontis + many other line illustrations by J E Laboureur , full page, in text and as chapter vignettes and end pieces. First Edition 1931. Please see our images of the actual book offered for sale for further details and condition. Good no d/j (Book- Title slip a little rubbed, general shelf soiling to cloth including a liquid splash to front panel of 2cm in diam. approx -possibly cooking oil with same to top front corner which has also discoloured the corner of the paste down in a quadrant extending in an arc of 6 cm approx. Book block slightly cocked, rear end paper cracked- mull holding, occassional marginal soiling. No previous owner name, a few pencil "X" against recipes. No other notable defects). A sound working copy- condition report makes it sound worse than is.
