About This Item

London: Cassell, 1940. First edition. Cloth. Very Good/Good. 8" by 6". None. A smart first edition of this sympathetic love story from British novelist R. C. Hutchinson, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. First edition. A love story following Josef Zeppichmann, a young German-Jewish doctor, a victim of the Nazis in the early days of their power, and Minna Wersen, a kitchen maid. Written by Ray Coryton Hutchinson, a best-selling British novelist. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light wear to the extremities only. Original unclipped dust wrapper is also smart with light wear and chipping to the extremities. Minor loss to the head and tail of the spine with the odd small closed tear. A 2" closed tear to the tail of the spine. Light sunning to the spine and the odd small mark to the panels. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd spot. Minor age toning to the endpapers. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper. Very Good
