First Steps is the second book in the Peter Carrot Tale series. Peter is learning to walk. His four brothers and sisters are each learning something new too, but they grow tired of the effort it takes and quit. But not Peter. He keeps trying because babies don't know how to quit yet and eventually learns to walk, teaching his siblings a thing or two. They each decide to try again and in time master their challenges. They are very proud of themselves...but not Peter. He hasn't learned how to do that yet.

About the author

I taught elementary school for about 20 years, was the director of a senior citizen's center for ten years in Lynchburg, TN, and then worked at City Hall in Lake Wales, FL for ten years. Over the years I have written over 100 children's books that my daughter, a Veterinarian, illustrated, and one of the things on my retirement list, now that I am, was to do something with them. The Peter Carrot Tale series is the first series I wrote, the first book when my daughter was in 6th grade. She still illustrates for me as she has time.
