About This Item
Alfred A. Knopf, New York, 1954. 10th printing. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Near Fine Condition/Very Good. Illustrator: Lois Lenski. Book A traditional telling of the first Thanksgiving featuring Lenski's illustrations. There are five full-page color plates bound in (including the frontis and a two-page illustration of the Thanksgiving meal) and many plain black drawings throughout Size: Small Octavo (7 1/2-8"). 57 pages. Item Type: Book. Text body is tight, bright and unmarked. The pages are slightly browned from age. Near Fine hardcover bound in light-red cloth over boards with the title and decoration in black or dark green ink on the front cover and spne. Corners are sharp with minimal wear at the tips of the bottom corners. The only reason for the Near Fine and not straight Fine is that there is a little color transfer from the cloth to the rear free endpaper. Also the rear paste-down and end paper are plain, rather than repeating the front decorations, which may be the way they were intended, but is different than expected. The unclipped ($2.00 net) dust jacket is in Very Good+ condition. The only defects are a small chip at the head of the front cover, not affecting any text, though there is a crease down through the title from it, and a little loss at the head of the front fold. The dust jacket is protected by an archival Brodart sleeve. Illustrator: Lois Lenski. Quantity Available: 1. Category: Fiction; United States; 1950s; Children.
