A fascinating work on fishing, including chapters on fishing in Norway, Germany, and England, as well as information on salmon fishing, black trout, chalk stream, and more.The first edition of this work. Including two plates in colour, twenty-five black-and-white plates, and seven in-text illustrations. Collated and complete. Written by T.T. Phelps. Including a previous owner's ink inscription to the front free-endpaper: 'J.A. Bower'. In the publisher's original blue cloth binding. Externally, some light shelf wear and bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. A few ink marks to the boards. Previous owner's ink inscription to the front free-endpaper.
