A fascinating work on fishing, including chapters on fishing in Norway, Germany, and England, as well as information on salmon fishing, black trout, chalk stream, and more.The first edition of this work. Including two plates in colour, twenty-five black-and-white plates, and seven in-text illustrations. Collated and complete. Written by T.T. Phelps. Including a previous owner's ink inscription to the front free-endpaper: 'J.A. Bower'. In the publisher's original blue cloth binding. Externally, some light shelf wear and bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. A few ink marks to the boards. Previous owner's ink inscription to the front free-endpaper. Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
