Illustrated with a frontispiece and many in-text images. A detailed guide to salmon and trout fishing, with chapters on: tackle and gear, the history of British salmon, fishing with the fly, chalk-stream fishing, baiting, culture, and much more. Written by Henry Cholmondeley-Pennell, a British civil servant who was appointed was her Majesty's Inspector of Sea Fisheries. With contributions from other authors. Volume one of two only, does not include Pike and Coarse Fishing. In the original brown pictorial cloth binding. Externally, smart with light shelf wear and rubbing to the extremities. The odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd handling mark. Light age toning to the endpapers. Very Good
