First American edition of the author's first book to appear in English translation (his second book overall). Hardcover, 294 pp. A sophisticated whodunit set in the European art world but whose roots extend back to the creation of a 15th century portrait of a mysterious noblewoman and the chess board which appears in the background. This novel, along with "The Club Dumas", launched Perez-Reverte to internation fame as a creator of richly constructed works of suspense fiction.

Synopsis

The Flanders Panel (originally La tabla de Flandes) is a novel written by Spanish author Arturo Pérez-Reverte in 1990, telling of a mystery hidden in an art masterpiece spanning from the 15th century to the present day.
