Two Volumes contained in a slip case, Limited edition, number 67 of 135 copies. The book is illustrated with 8 etchings by Anthony Gross, with another set of the eight etchings, all signed, printed on hand made paper, housed in a box, loose as issued . Both folios are bound in buff cloth with brown morocco spines and lettered in gilt. There is a slight circular indentation on the last blank leaf to the book, the odd brown fox mark, otherwise a very good copy.

Tear-out sheet is gone, all other objects are present and in fine condition: a pop-up castle, a fold-out accordion, a pop-up airplane, spring-mounted Chelsea Girls disc, a dodecahedron paper sculpture, Lou Reed flexi-disc is detached but is present, Rainbow nose with overlays, a pop-up Hunt's Tomato Paste can.

Translation provided by Eve Lerner. Loose leaves laid into wrapper and issued in a hand-made box designed by Jeanne Frere. Measures 37 x 39 cm. The edition was limited to only 35 copies plus 10 A. C., numbered and SIGNED by both the poet and the artist. A fine, as-new copy. Destined to be a real "stopper" for Ferlinghetti collectors. The delicate paper label on the front panel of the box has a tear, else this item is in fine condition.

The book is illustrated with halftone reproductions after collages by Valentine Penrose plus an original etching by Pablo Picasso. This is number 249 of 350 copies, sur Velin which includes the Picasso etching with the 2 bars, the cancellation mark. This etching shows the cancellation bars on the right upper corner, and is numbered 249/350 in pencil. Pablo Picasso especially made the etching for the book and is titled 'The Couple'. The full etching sheet measures approximately 13 inches X 10 inches. The actual etching plate measures approximately 6 5/8 X 8 1/2 inches. INSCRIBED, SIGNED and dated 1946 by Carl Rungius on the blank FFEP and SIGNED by Schaldach, the author, on the same page. Copies signed by Rungius are very uncommon. Very good condition with slight fraying spine ends, usual light browning of pages, very tips lower corners rubbed, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages other than the signed inscription and author signature. Original slipcase has 1cm deep loss of cover paper at spine ends, complete cover labels (front and back) that are not chipped, some splitting along one spine edge but connections holding well.
